RADIO-TELEVISION SERVICES (BL-RTVS-IUBLA)
Indiana University Radio & Television Services, WTIU Public Television, and WFIU Public Radio serves south-central Indiana, producing a wide range of radio and television programs for local, state, and national distribution, as well as many non-broadcast productions for the university and community. Participate in a variety of standard broadcast and closed-circuit operations including setup, operation and maintenance of electronic, mechanical and optical equipment in the origination, transmission, reception, and recording of audio and video signals. Primary duties focus on production engineering of The Media School production, recorded productions, remote, field and post productions, instructional productions, and Media School lab and studio productions. This position also includes design, installation, and performing routine and corrective maintenance on other radio and television broadcast quality production systems.
Associate degree in telecommunications or a closely related field and two years of experience in broadcast operations, field production, and computer based editing.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Ability to understand and work with a variety of broadcast production equipment. Interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of people in a dynamic environment (including students, faculty, producers, directors, talent and guests). Ability to work shifts during nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Certification as SBE CBT (Certified Broadcast Technologist) level or above.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to climb a ladder may be required at times. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work alone at times and in non-campus locations.
Hours of work vary according to need.
