RADIO-TELEVISION SERVICES (BL-RTVS-IUBLA)
Indiana University-Radio/Television Services, WTIU Public Television, and WFIU Public Radio serve south-central Indiana, producing a wide range of radio, television programs for local, state, and national distribution, as well as many non-broadcast productions for the university and community. Create content for various media including radio, online, and online video. Produce programs both online and on-air. Support social media online functions for programs and activities. Other job duties include:
- Create content for broadcast and online platforms that has national/global marketing potential and meets production standards and deadlines.
- Host live and produced on-air and online programming.
- Supervise staff in content development and multi-platform production and delivery.
- Represent the station by producing content for and participating in WFIU on-air and online fund drives, by responding to listener feedback, and by appearing at community events.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in cross-platform production, multi-platform content generation, social media applications, radio production, and on-air delivery. Must have completed a variety of substantive multi-platform productions.
Knowledge of digital audio recording and editing equipment and software, digital video equipment, and on-air studio equipment. Knowledge of social media trends and applications. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in various audio, video, and online technologies and capacities. Superior interviewing and writing skills for on-air radio and online applications. Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide diversity of clients and guests. Excellent problem-solving and time management skills. Ability to learn new digital applications quickly.
Five years of experience. Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Media, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or Music. Working knowledge of classical and jazz music history and literature, and a broad knowledge of the arts.
Must be able to travel. Must be able to carry up to 40 pounds of audio/online video equipment. Must be able to work extended hours as needed, including some evenings and weekends as required.
