Indiana voting guide:

for both the experienced and beginners

The general election is on Nov. 8, what do you need to know? What do you need on Election Day? Where can you find your ballot to research candidates ahead of time? Does your vote really matter?

We received questions through the Indiana Two-Way, a weekly text group that provides news updates and asks questions to inform our reporting. To join, text the word “Indiana” to 765-275-1120.

Below are resources on the voting process, how to be an informed voter, and explanation of government positions.

Under the Voting Process, you’ll find some frequently asked questions like how to register to vote, does my vote really matter, what your rights are as a voter and what you need on Election Day.

The Informed Voter section will walk you through tips on how to research your ballot, finding information on who is donating to candidates, and finding voting records for candidates.

And we have a section dedicated to understanding what each elected position in state and county government actually does under Government Positions.

Join the conversation and sign up for the Indiana Two-Way. Text "Indiana" to 73224. Your comments and questions in response to our weekly text help us find the answers you need leading up to Election Day.
