IPBS Hall of Fame

**The nomination period for the 2024 IPBS Hall of Fame is closed.**

Nominees will be champions of public media with ties to Indiana. They will exemplify dedication to the mission of public media through their leadership, inspiration, and track record of contributions.  This is the second year of the IPBS Hall of Fame.  In 2023, inductees included Perry Metz, Dr. Joe Misciewicz, Roger Rhodes, and Lloyd Wright.

Who is eligible?

Nominees may include:

  • Current employees, former employees, board members, and volunteers of a public media station or related organization
  • Nationally known public media figures with a tie to Indiana
  • Local, state, and federal elected and appointed officials

How do I nominate?

Only nominations submitted using the Nomination Form will be considered.

Step 1: Open the Nomination Form.

Step 2: Download the form to your desktop by clicking the download icon in the upper right-hand corner above the form.

Step 3: Rename and save the file as a PDF.

Step 4: Fill in all the fields on the form (it is a writable form).

Step 5: Save it again!

Step 6: Email the completed Nomination Form and any supporting materials (e.g., nominee resume, CV, third party letters of support) to Barbara Duke Sams

What is the deadline for submitting nominations?

Friday, May 24, 2024.

What information do I need to provide when nominating someone?

You need to provide a completed Nomination Form.  Make sure you include the nominee’s full name, mobile number, and email address.  Illustrate the nominee’s community service, length of service, and demonstrated impact on public media.  Include job titles, organizational affiliations, and any honors, awards, and recognition received by the nominee.  Also, you must include a personal statement of 500 words or less illuminating the nominee’s impact and contributions that warrant their selection to the IPBS Hall of Fame.

Other supporting documentation such as a resume or CV highlighting the nominee’s production work, publications, thought leadership, and other service may be included, though it is not required.  Letters of support from third parties may be included as well. 

Where do I submit my Hall of Fame nomination materials?

Save your completed Nomination Form as a PDF and email it along with any supporting materials to Barbara Duke Sams at bsams@ipbs.org by Friday, May 24, 2024.

How will Hall of Fame inductees be chosen?

A committee of IPBS board members and outside judges will select inductees using a scoring rubric based on achievement, recognition, and service.

How will inductees be recognized?

Inductees will be honored at a luncheon on Tuesday, July 23 during the 2024 IPBS Conference.
